Basketball Game Preview: Trona Tornadoes vs. Baker Braves

The Trona Tornadoes will challenge the Baker Braves at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.

Trona is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2025 on Wednesday. They took a blow against Lone Pine, falling 75-18. The Tornadoes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-11.

Baker played against Mojave on Wednesday and won via forfeit.

Baker's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.0 points on average over those games. As for Trona, their loss dropped their record down to 4-12.

Trona came out on top in a nail-biter against Baker in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, sneaking past 49-46. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Braves' Anthony Ortiz, who went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and six boards.
