Baseball Recap: Quitman Takes a Loss

Quitman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forest Bearcats. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bearcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Holden Turner stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Quitman's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 2-1 (and 5-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Connor King, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Quitman now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Forest, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 4-10 record.

While Quitman had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
