Volleyball Recap: Wheat Ridge Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Wheat Ridge lost against Pomona back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Farmers fell 3-1 to the Panthers. The Farmers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it five in a row.

While Wheat Ridge had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-20, 27-29, 25-23.

Leading Pomona to victory were Liliana Hart and Natalia Grzebieniarz. Hart had ten digs, while Grzebieniarz had six kills, five digs, and four aces. Those four aces gave Grzebieniarz a new career-high.

Wheat Ridge now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Pomona, the victory snapped their losing streak at 12 matches and leaves them with a 3-14 record.

Wheat Ridge and Pomona could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Farmers will challenge Conifer at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (285 vs. 76). Meanwhile, Pomona (ranked 291st) will meet Standley Lake (ranked 42nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
