Volleyball Recap: Fisher Catholic Starts Season with Victory Against Cristo Rey

Fisher Catholic gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cristo Rey Cougar.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Fisher Catholic took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-7, 25-12, 25-10.

Fisher Catholic found their leader in sophomore Ellesan Lambert, who had 12 aces. Lambert is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served three or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Hadli Gillum, who had eight kills, two aces, and one block.

Fisher Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 23 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cristo Rey is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Fisher Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Millersport on the 26th. Cristo Rey has also already played their next matchup (against Patriot Prep Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
