Basketball Recap: Liguori Academy Starts Season with Win Against the City School

Liguori Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They really took it to The City School Lions for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-33 win. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lions, too.

Liguori Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Armel Reid out in front who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Rydee Miller, who went 7-for-11 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

The City School's loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liguori Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Martin Luther at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for The City School, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against International Christian at 4:00 p.m.
