Basketball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for Canyon View

Canyon View lost to Emery back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Canyon View Falcons took down the Emery Spartans 70-51. The Falcons pushed the score to 63-38 by the end of the third, a deficit the Spartans cut but never quite recovered from.

When it comes to explaining why Emery lost, don't look at West Johansen. Despite the final result, he went 6 of 12 on his way to 12 points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Hurdsman, who posted nine points.

Canyon View's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Emery, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Canyon View will take on Delta at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Emery, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Uintah at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Emery is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.4 points per game this season.
