Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Greendale

Greendale proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the New Berlin West Vikings, sneaking past 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Panthers, who have now won three games in a row.

Ayla Krecklow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Greendale's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Giselle Paszkiewicz, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Claire Endter also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Greendale pushed their record up to 10-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for New Berlin West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
