Volleyball Recap: Musselman Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

The Musselman Applemen were able to grind out a solid win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday, taking the game 2-0.

Musselman easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-12.

Musselman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alycia Miller, who had 21 digs. Miller has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last eight times she's played. Gracie Ganse was another key player, getting seven digs and two aces.

Musselman is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. As for Notre Dame, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Musselman will welcome Hedgesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Notre Dame, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Heritage Christian at 7:30 p.m.
