Softball Recap: North Posey Gets the Win

North Posey won against Mt. Carmel on Tuesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Southridge Raiders 3-2. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Alyssa Heath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Paige Vaughn was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

North Posey's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Southridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

North Posey didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-2 victory against Vincennes Lincoln on the 8th. As for Southridge, they have also already played their next match, a 9-5 win against North Knox on the 9th.
