Northwest Halifax scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 91-90 to the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (58), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Northwest Halifax's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daveion Richardson, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. Richardson is becoming a predictor of Northwest Halifax's success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is 7-2 (and 2-7 when he doesn't). TrAli Hyman was another key player, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds.

Rocky Mount Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rashyd Johnson, who posted 28 points. Those 28 points gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Davis, who scored 21 points.

Northwest Halifax has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points over those games. As for Rocky Mount Prep, their record is now 6-11.

Northwest Halifax wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 75-70 victory against Southeast Halifax on the 5th.
