Football Recap: Saddle Brook Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Saddle Brook's offense. They were dealt a 33-0 defeat at the hands of the Hasbrouck Heights Aviators on Friday. The loss leaves the Falcons still looking for their first win of the season.

Despite the loss, Saddle Brook still got an impressive performance from Jayden Gatyas, who rushed for 58 yards, and also picked up 44 receiving yards.

It was another big night for Michael Napolitano, who rushed for 174 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only nine carries, and also caught one score for Hasbrouck Heights. With that strong performance, Napolitano is now averaging an impressive 110.5 rushing yards per game. Nicholas Haines was another key player, gaining 80 total yards and two touchdowns.

Saddle Brook's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hasbrouck Heights, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saddle Brook will challenge rival New Milford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hasbrouck Heights is set to square off against their familiar foe Butler at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Aviators 8.8, the Bulldogs 7.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
