Baseball Recap: Herrin Comes Up Short

Herrin and Carbondale squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Herrin had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Terriers by a score of 3-1. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Terriers earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

This is the second loss in a row for Herrin and nudges their season record down to 11-15. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Carbondale, they pushed their record up to 13-12 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

As of now, neither Herrin nor the Terriers have any future games scheduled.
