Softball Recap: Pasquotank County Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hertford County

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pasquotank County). They blew past the Hertford County Bears 21-2 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won five in a row.

Lanna Wise made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Pasquotank County got a massive performance out of Emma Bailey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Bailey has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maddie Bundy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.

Pasquotank County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pasquotank County's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Hertford County, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
