Basketball Recap: Kingsbury Comes Up Short

Kingsbury extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-11. They were outmatched by the Whitehaven Tigers and fell 62-21. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Tigers are ranked 20th).

As for Whitehaven, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-3. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 22 points or more this season.

Whitehaven got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was La'Niyah Moore out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards. Moore is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 55% in the last five games she's played. Laila Nelson was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Kingsbury wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-31 defeat against Overton on the 11th. As for Whitehaven, they have also already played their next matchup, a 41-33 win against White Station on the 11th.
