The Del Valle Conquistadores are taking a road trip to challenge the Jefferson Silver Foxes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Del Valle is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Del Valle beat Canutillo 21-16.
Del Valle can attribute much of their success to Dante Eytcheson, who rushed for 77 yards and a pair of TDs on only seven carries, and Jake Fette, who rushed for 64 yards and one score on only nine carries.
Del Valle didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Canutillo to a completion percentage of just 41.2%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Abraham Garcia and Isiah Herrera, who each logged one passes deflected. Del Valle hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.55 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Jefferson played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Burges and fell 34-7. The Silver Foxes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Even if they lost, Jefferson's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Nicolas Rossini and Alberto Nevarez, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Del Valle, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Del Valle has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 418 total yards per game. It's a different story for Jefferson, though, as they've been averaging only 164.2 total yards. Will Del Valle be able to march up the field at their leisure again, or will the Silver Foxes flip the script?
Everything came up roses for Del Valle against Jefferson in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 58-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Conquistadores since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
