Basketball Game Preview: Rome Free Academy Black Knights vs. New Hartford Spartans

Rome Free Academy and New Hartford are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Rome Free Academy Black Knights will welcome the New Hartford Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rome Free Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matchups -- so hopefully New Hartford likes a good challenge.

Rome Free Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New York's top teams: Bishop Ludden, who was ranked seventh at the time (Rome Free Academy was ranked 13th). Rome Free Academy beat Bishop Ludden on Wednesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 79-70.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for New Hartford, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Proctor by a score of 72-60 on Friday. That 12 point margin sets a new team best for the Spartans this season.

New Hartford now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Rome Free Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
