Basketball Game Preview: Etowah Eagles vs. Marietta Blue Devils

The Etowah Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Marietta Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Etowah's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.

Etowah is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 86-82 to North Paulding on Tuesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (62), the Eagles still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Marietta came up short against Kennesaw Mountain last Tuesday and fell 59-52.

Etowah's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-9. Those road losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points over those games. As for Marietta, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Etowah strolled past Marietta in their previous meeting back in February of 2025 by a score of 67-51. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Blue Devils' Michael Smith, who posted 21 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.
