Softball Preview: Westview vs. Auburn Bulldogs
Westview are on the road again on Tuesday to play the Auburn Bulldogs.
Last Friday, Westview didn't have quite enough to beat Marian and fell 8-7.
Meanwhile, Auburn waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Wolverines onto the board and left with a 12-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by eight runs or more this season.
Morgan Stanley was incredible, going 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Bree Wehenkel, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.
Westview has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Auburn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Westview skirted past Auburn 2-0 when the teams last played back in September of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Westview since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
