Baseball Game Preview: Elkin Buckin' Elks vs. Avery County Vikings

Elkin is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Avery County a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Elkin Buckin' Elks will be playing at home against the Avery County Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Elkin came up short against West Wilkes on Monday, falling 12-1.

Elkin saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joseph Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Avery County scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 20-9 to Owen.

Landon Liner was cooking despite his team's loss, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron King, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Even though they lost, Avery County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Avery County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Elkin, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.
