Basketball Recap: Dirigo Comes Up Short

Dirigo lost against Maranacook back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Dirigo Cougars took a 63-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maranacook Black Bears. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Dirigo's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Maranacook, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dirigo will take on Boothbay at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dirigo is facing Boothbay at the right time seeing as Boothbay is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Maranacook, they will square off against Hall-Dale at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hall-Dale knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Maranacook likes a good challenge.
