Basketball Game Preview: Angleton Wildcats vs. West Brook Bruins

Two dominant guards in Braydon Campbell and Elijah Garrett are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Angleton Wildcats will face off against the West Brook Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Angleton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine matchups.

Last Tuesday, Angleton got the win against Santa Fe by a conclusive 75-55. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, West Brook hadn't done well against Beaumont United recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. West Brook walked away with a 54-46 win over Beaumont United. Given the Bruins' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 73rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Angleton better focus on containing Garrett and Seth Bagneris as the pair were huge in West Brook's win. Garrett posted 13 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Bagneris scored 12 points. Terry Satcher was another key player, putting up eight points.

West Brook pushed their record up to 32-2 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points over those games. As for Angleton, their record is now 19-16.

Angleton took a serious blow against West Brook in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 100-63. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Angleton was down 53-26.
