Soccer Game Preview: Desert Vista vs. Pinnacle

The Desert Vista Thunder are taking a road trip to take on the Pinnacle Pioneers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Desert Vista is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Xavier College Prep, who was ranked fourth at the time (Desert Vista was ranked 15th). Desert Vista took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Xavier College Prep on Wednesday. The Thunder's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Pinnacle made easy work of Horizon on Friday and carried off a 9-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pioneers.

Pinnacle's victory bumped their record up to 10-7-1. As for Desert Vista, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-5-1.

Desert Vista took their win against Pinnacle in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 5-1. Will Desert Vista repeat their success, or does Pinnacle have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
