Baseball Recap: Orange Takes a Loss

Orange was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Century Centurions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Panthers have suffered since March 25th.

Daniel Vergara spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Orange saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gogh Nakagawa, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Anthony Zaragoza also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14-1. As for Century, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-8.

While Orange had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
