Stanwood and Everett are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Spartans will head out to square off against the Seagulls at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Everett took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Stanwood, who comes in off a win.

Stanwood is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Washington's top teams: Othello, who was ranked 14th at the time (Stanwood was ranked 20th). The Spartans put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 8-0 victory on Thursday.

The result came thanks to Tanner Requa's shutout, as he gave up just six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Connor Clifton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Gavin Gehrman was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Everett unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Mount Vernon by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Seagulls have suffered since March 19, 2024.

Stanwood's win bumped their record up to 10-1. As for Everett, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7.

Stanwood beat Everett 12-8 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Seagulls have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
