Soccer Recap: Bessemer City Takes a Loss

Bessemer City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 9-0 to the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-1 back in March.

Bessemer City was without their leading scorer, Makayla Ball, in Thursday's match. With Ball sidelined, Jazlyn Roseboro got her first action of the season.

Bessemer City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Bessemer City didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-0 loss against Shelby on the 29th. As for Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 1-0 win against Burns on the 24th.
