Basketball Recap: Monache's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak on the Road

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Monache can now relate to. They lost 79-57 to the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Marauders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Highlanders are ranked 185th).

Despite the loss, Monache still got an impressive performance from Ty Baxter, who posted 22 points. Baxter's big performance that evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points.

Monache's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points over those games. As for Granada Hills Charter, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-14.

Monache does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Granada Hills Charter, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 55-44 win against Fairfax on the 6th.
