Basketball Recap: Aniguiin Takes a Loss

Aniguiin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They took a blow against the Gambell King Polar Bear, falling 92-46. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-20.

Jarvis Campbell-Soonagrook was his usual excellent self, putting up 39 points for Gambell. Campbell-Soonagrook continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Damian Campbell-Newhall, who posted 19 points.

Aniguiin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Gambell, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Coming up, Aniguiin will face off against Brevig Mission on Friday. Aniguiin is facing Brevig Mission at the right time seeing as Brevig Mission is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Gambell, they have already played their next matchup, a 66-60 win against Anthony Andrews on the 15th.
