Basketball Recap: Gardner-South Wilmington Takes a Loss

Gardner-South Wilmington lost against Dwight back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Gardner-South Wilmington Panthers were outmatched by the Dwight Trojans and fell 50-20. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 651st, while the Trojans are ranked 310th).

Gardner-South Wilmington has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season. As for Dwight, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-11.

Gardner-South Wilmington will face off against Grace Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Grace Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Dwight has already played their next contest (against Seneca), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
