After a string of five wins, West Bladen's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against the South Brunswick Cougars, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2017.

While West Bladen was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into South Brunswick's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-16, 25-22.

West Bladen's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 10-2. As for South Brunswick, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

West Bladen will take on Whiteville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Brunswick, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Red Springs on the 24th.
