Peebles hadn't done well against Fayetteville-Perry recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Indians walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Rockets. The win was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won five games in a row.

Kaelyn Musser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jerzi Tong and Josie McGhee did most of the damage at the plate: Tong went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while McGhee went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Tong has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Riley Byers, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Peebles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Peebles' victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Fayetteville-Perry, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Coming up, Peebles will be playing at home against Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lions have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Fayetteville-Perry, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-6 win against Manchester on the 14th.
