It's playoff time, and Hale Ray had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Coginchaug Regional Blue Devils on Wednesday. The victory continues a trend for the Noises in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Lily Jahne made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base.

Jahne wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Makenzie Albert, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That double was Albert's first of the season.

Hale Ray's win bumped their record up to 20-4. As for Coginchaug Regional, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.

Hale Ray will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blue Devils: the pair will be back at it again later today.
