Basketball Recap: Colleton Prep Academy Takes a Loss

Colleton Prep Academy lost against Orangeburg Prep last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks lost 70-46 to the Orangeburg Prep Indians. The War Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-16.

Orangeburg Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tilden Riley, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Riley a new career-high in steals (four). Another player making a difference was Avery Ravenell, who posted 15 points and six assists.

Colleton Prep Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Orangeburg Prep, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Colleton Prep Academy will challenge Dorchester Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colleton Prep Academy is facing Dorchester Academy at the right time seeing as Dorchester Academy is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Orangeburg Prep, they will square off against Clarendon Hall at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. Orangeburg Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Clarendon Hall likes a good challenge.
