East Gaston extended their winning streak to four on Monday, bumping their season record up to 12-8 in the process. They came out on top against the Forestview Jaguars by a score of 11-8. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 16-15 back in February.

Cameron Barnette made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zane Dodd, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Dylan Wright, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
East Gaston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Forestview only managed eight hits.
As for Forestview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely East Gaston, Stuart W. Cramer, and Stuart W. Cramer.
On Forestview's side, Martin Liwosz was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Liwosz is becoming a predictor of the Jaguars' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Benjamin Denton was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run.
East Gaston has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Stuart W. Cramer on the 22nd. As for Forestview, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-4 loss against Bessemer City on the 22nd.
