Softball Game Preview: Coventry Comets vs. Mogadore Wildcats

The Coventry Comets will face off against the Mogadore Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Coventry fell victim to Field and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Falcons. The Comets have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Mogadore had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They never let the Knights get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matches by eight runs or more so far this season.

Coventry now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Mogadore, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Coventry was able to grind out a solid victory over Mogadore in their previous meeting back in March of 2016, winning 7-2. Will the Comets repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
