Softball Recap: Monroe Central Find Success

Monroe Central won the last time they faced Magnolia and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Seminoles came out on top against the Blue Eagles by a score of 6-1.

Karlie Haslam made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over 11 innings while giving up just one earned run off eight hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-6 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jadyn Miller, who scored a run while going 2-for-5. Reese Binegar was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

The win got Monroe Central back to even at 3-3. As for Magnolia, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monroe Central will take on Shenandoah at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Magnolia, they will face off against Williamstown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.09 runs per game on average), something the Blue Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
