Basketball Game Preview: Upper Arlington Golden Bears vs. Olentangy Liberty Patriots

Upper Arlington hasn't had much luck against Olentangy Liberty recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Upper Arlington Golden Bears will challenge the Olentangy Liberty Patriots at 8:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Upper Arlington is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They snuck past Newark with a 49-44 victory.

Meanwhile, Olentangy Liberty didn't have too much trouble with Pickerington Central on Saturday as they won 75-59. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Tigers are ranked 120th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Olentangy Liberty's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.7 points over those games. As for Upper Arlington, their record is now 14-9.

Upper Arlington might still be hurting after the 55-31 loss they got from Olentangy Liberty in their previous matchup back in January. Can Upper Arlington avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
