Soccer Game Preview: Academic Magnet vs. A.C. Flora

The Academic Magnet Raptors will square off against the A.C. Flora Falcons at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Academic Magnet comes in on nine and A.C. Flora on five.

Academic Magnet is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Woodland an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Raptors needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Meanwhile, A.C. Flora won against Dreher on Tuesday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Thursday. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was A.C. Flora who was credited with the win. A.C. Flora got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to Brookland-Cayce's four.

Academic Magnet pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for A.C. Flora, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
