Soccer Game Preview: Gonzales vs. Cole

The Gonzales Apaches will head out to square off against the Cole Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Gonzales will be strutting in after a win while Cole will be coming in after a loss.

Gonzales' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Yoakum by a score of 2-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Apaches were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Cole unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 5-1 to John F. Kennedy. Having soared to a lofty five goals in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Gonzales' victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Cole, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

Everything went Gonzales' way against Cole when the teams last played back in February, as Gonzales made off with a 5-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gonzales since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
