It was a proper cat-fight when Alhambra duked it out with Willow Canyon on Monday. The Lions fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-7. The Lions' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Alhambra's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Willow Canyon, they pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Alhambra will welcome North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Willow Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Havasu at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
