Basketball Recap: Anaya Harmon Key Part of Team Effort in Mountain Lions Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Heritage, Mountain View was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top against the Pomona Panthers by a score of 33-23. The Mountain Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anaya Harmon, who posted four points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Harmon a new career-high. Maylynn Ibarra was another key player, putting up seven points.

Despite the loss, Pomona saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Audrianna Mondragon had 14 points.

The win got Mountain View back to even at 1-1. As for Pomona, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Mountain View will square off against The Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pomona, they will face off against Skyline at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
