Softball Recap: Emerald Ridge Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Emerald Ridge had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Skyline Spartans 9-8. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Jaguars.

Kenzie Stolmeier was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Rooney, who went 3-for-4 with one run.

Emerald Ridge's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 24-6.

Emerald Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-3 defeat against Jackson on the 24th. Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
