Willamette came into Tuesday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They won by a run and slipped past the Sheldon Irish 10-9. The Wolverines' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Willamette's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Sheldon, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2-1.

Looking ahead, Sheldon will square off against Corvallis at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Willamette will be paying especially close attention to the Irish's game: after the Irish face off against the Spartans, they'll take on Willamette again at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
