Cahokia scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 71-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marion Wildcats. The defeat continues a trend for the Comanches in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost five in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Cahokia lost, don't look at Taven Miller. Despite the final result, he shot 53% from the field on his way to 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Machai Henderson, who posted 11 points.

Marion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mahki House led the charge by going 11-for-18 to rack up 30 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Cameron Curry, who shot 50% from the field en route to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Cahokia's loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Cahokia has already played their next matchup (against Mascoutah), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Marion, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-57 victory against Freeburg on the 6th.
