Hicksville is 2-7 against Lincolnview since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Aces will head out to challenge the Lancers at 11:30 a.m.
Hicksville lost 3-0 to Ayersville on Tuesday.
While Hicksville ultimately came up short, they really made Ayersville work, particularly in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-9, 25-14.
Meanwhile, Lincolnview made easy work of Lima Central Catholic on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.
Lincolnview never let Lima Central Catholic on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-11, 25-22.
Lincolnview found their leader in freshman MaKayla Marsee, who had ten digs and one assist.
Hicksville's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Lincolnview, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Saturday's contest: Hicksville has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Lincolnview struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Hicksville came up short against Lincolnview when the teams last played back in September of 2024, falling 3-1. Can the Aces avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
