Spanish Springs saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Jacobs, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Jacobs has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.
Meanwhile, Douglas posted their closest win since May 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out McQueen 10-9.
Douglas got a big performance out of Annie Hill, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Gildea, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Douglas hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive matches.
Douglas is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Spanish Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-8-1.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Spanish Springs has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Douglas struggles in that department as they've averaged .438. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
