Softball Recap: Fike Comes Up Short

Fike was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the South Johnston Trojans, falling 24-3. The Demons were not able to make up for their loss to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Fike saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Sharp, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Sharp also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another was Addison Barnes, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Fike's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for South Johnston, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Fike didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 22-0 victory against Smithfield-Selma on the 18th. As for South Johnston, they have also already played their next contest, a 13-3 win against C.B. Aycock on the 18th.
