Soccer Recap: Westwood Comes Up Short

Westwood entered their match against Maryvale on Monday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Westwood Warriors fell just short of the Maryvale Panthers by a score of 3-2. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Westwood suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 5-4-1. As for Maryvale, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4-1.

Westwood and Maryvale could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings. Westwood will face off against Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on January 28th down 39 places (43 vs. 4). Meanwhile, Maryvale (ranked 97th) will meet Tolleson (ranked 35th) at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
