Flag Football Recap: Wakefield Wins High-Profile Matchup Against Enloe

Wakefield faced Enloe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wolverines simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Eagles 47-0. The Wolverines' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Wakefield to victory were Sara Barlett and Quinn Pope. Barlett gained 116 total yards and three touchdowns, while Pope rushed for 56 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries. Those 56 rushing yards gave Pope a new career-high.

Wakefield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Gracelyn Capel, Ali Plunkett, and Maddy Lampman picked up one apiece.

Wakefield's record now sits at 8-0. As for Enloe, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Wakefield has already played their next game, a 26-0 victory against Broughton on the 23rd. As for Enloe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 45-0 defeat against Corinth Holders on the 23rd.
