Softball Recap: Southwind Comes Up Short

Southwind had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-9 to make it ten. They came up short against the Bartlett Panthers, falling 19-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jaguars of the 17-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

As for Bartlett, with the win, they broke their eight-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-23. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Bartlett's part, Molly Williams was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Morgan Bonds, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Bartlett beat Southwind by a score of 16-0 later that day.
