Basketball Game Preview: Dillon Wildcats vs. Lake View Wild Gators

Dillon and Lake View are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Dillon Wildcats will be playing at home against the Lake View Wild Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Dillon's tournament run continued when they took on Scott's Branch last Saturday. Dillon was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Scott's Branch.

Dillon's loss came about despite a quality game from Ayonna Lester, who went 8 of 17 en route to 19 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Lester a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khwnylahi Mckinnon, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

Meanwhile, Lake View played a tough match on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Carvers Bay 50-12. The Wild Gators were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-5.

Lake View's defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2. As for Dillon, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
